First Music CAMP – 2017

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.” Psalm 100:1

A joyful noise could be heard at the AMEC centre during the half term break at the beginning of February, when 30 children joined together for the first AMEC music camp in Sibiu. Each day they learnt about the guitar, they held the guitar, they strummed the guitar, they learned how to listen to others and how to play songs individually and together. Each one worked really hard to improve their skills. Some came having never played a guitar before, others had some previous skills, but together they all made great progress.

Each morning the children learnt from the life of King David – a musician himself and one who wrote many of the psalms in the Bible. They learnt the 23rd Psalm off by heart and they enjoyed meeting new friends and even a trip into the centre of Sibiu. Most of the time however was spent in practicing and practicing. New skills were learnt and we are sure that you will agree with us that the concert at the end was the proof that they all worked hard and did a really great job!

We are thankful to God for the opportunity that He gave us to hold this music camp and we trust that it will be the first of many more such events.
