Who we are and what what we believe …
EverychildinRomania is a project of Children Evangelism Fellowship of Romania in order to promote some of the giving opportunities within the mission. All finances given through www.everychildinromania.com are used for evangelising children in Romania.
Asociatia Misionara pentru Educarea Copiilor ®, also known as CEF®, is a worldwide interdenominational organization, working alongside and together with local churches in over 180 countries.
We are a Bible-centred organization, composed of born-again believers, whose purpose is:
To EVANGELIZE boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ
DISCIPLE them in the Word of God and
ESTABLISH them in a local Bible believing church for Christian living.
We endeavour to do this through our various ministries to children and young people.
CEF in Romania started in 1972, read more about it here.
Child Evangelism Fellowship is currently ministering in 195 countries.
1972
CEF work in Romania began in 1972 under the pioneering ministry of Trudy Kuhlman – CEF missionary from USA. Despite the difficulties and dangers of children’s ministry at that time under a strict and harsh communist regime, God blessed and used Trudy in amazing ways to encourage, train and help the local churches.
1989-1992
Following the Revolution of 1989, when communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu was overthrown, Romania entered into a new era. Religious freedom was one of the benefits this new era offered. The Gospel could now be freely and openly proclaimed! During the latter part of the 1980s until 1992 God continued to bless the work of CEF under the leadership of Roberta Stevenson (N. Ireland). National Office ministry was established during this time and also the first National workers joined the mission.
1993
In 1993 Tom Somerville (N. Ireland) took over leadership responsibility. Until 1999 God used Tom to set up many of the structures within the mission which helped it grow and develop and to build up the team of National workers.
1994
On 24 January, Child Evangelism Fellowship of Romania, otherwise known as AMEC, was officially registered in Romania.
1999
Linda Corry took over the leadership from 1999 and God blessed the ministry of CEF in Romania under her leadership until 2008. During this time there were 3 Leadership Training Institute’s held and God called more believers into the ministry and the team grew to 42 full-time workers serving in 13 countries in Romania.
2008
Iulian and Anca Mangalagiu, local workers in county Iasi were asked to take over the leadership of the mission. At that time, there were 44 full-time workers.
2010
Child Evangelism Fellowship of Romania organised Good News across Romania for the first time in county Sibiu. This project went on to be organised in future years in Constanța, Bihor, Arad, Prahova and Iași.
