Take time to read the following reasons. The first is:

1. Investing in children, is the greatest investment we can make.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”        Proverbs 22:6

Research conducted by Barna Research Group among a group of 994 born again believers, shows that 64% of those interviewed decided to follow Jesus as Lord and Saviour before they were 18 years of age. 13% between the ages of 18 – 21 and 23% after 21 years of age. (www.barna.org)

The Word of God teaches us that a child who is trained from a young age in the way of the Lord, will not depart from this way when he is older. A similar illustration can be seen in clay that has been molded.

Once an object has been engraved and put in a furance, it is almost impossible for the engraving to be removed. It is too late. Any changes need to be made before the clay is set.

In this sense, children are a great, long term investment.

 

2. Investing in children is a sure investment.

Children, while sinners, do not yet known a life of great depravity and vices, such as those who are older do.

A saved child, is not only a soul saved, but also a life saved – saved from all the potential sin and depravity that a life outside of God knows.

 

3. Children are a divine investment

As Christian investors, we always need to be sure that what we invest in, is in conformity with the law and will of God.

Matthew 18:14 “Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.“

As you invest in the lives of children, you can be sure you are in the will of God.
